Hawaii has always been known for its gorgeous beaches and romantic
atmosphere, reasons it has been one of the favorite honeymoon destinations
for people around the world. There seems to be a shift in how people are
thinking about Hawaii, though. Hotel space is shrinking while permanent
residencies and timeshares are on the upswing.
This trend has been developing for several years, reflecting a growing
interest in timeshares and a healthy second-home buyers market. People want
to stay longer than a week or two. They desire a niche of their own in
paradise.
The loss of hotel space is in many ways attributable to hotel renovations
going on throughout the islands; however, the reduced accommodations may be
contributing to many visitors considering the advantage of owning a
timeshare or condotel, avoiding the hassle and anxiety of booking
arrangements.
According to a report by the Department of Business, Economic Development
and Tourism, statewide hotel accommodations were down 0.8 percent, while
Kauai suffered the greatest reduction at 2.7 percent. These are figures that
will certainly have the timeshare market ready to fill this void. Few would
deny the appeal of owning a timeshare in such a unique and alluring getaway. |
