China will soon have an industry standard for timeshares. This new standard is hoped to ease some problems that have ensued in the previously unregulated business environment.

There have been issues in the past with overstatements of the timeshare attractions and benefits. Chinese officials hope that new regulation will limit this in the future.
A timeshare property can be a great solution. Instead of purchasing a second vacation home, a timeshare vacation home can be purchased, and the owner of a timeshare would have access to that property for just one or two weeks a year. Timeshare ownership can be for a set duration in years, or can be a complete purchase forever.

Without any regulations into timeshare properties, there have been irregular practices, and dishonest operators have been getting away with unethical practices. This has given the industry a bad name.
