Details On Royal Oasis Project Still Fuzzy PDF Print E-mail
Written by OJ Fagbire

The Department of Tourism doesn't seem to know anything about the details of a press release made by Harcourt Developments, purchasers of the Royal Oasis Resort, about their obligations of the company. Minister of Tourism Neko Grant could only repeat over and over that he cannot make a statement until the government is given something official to comment on.

In a press statement issued to the media last Thursday, Harcourt expressed it pleasure at the purchase and a desire to restore the Royal Oasis to the glory it once was.

After a yearlong negotiation battle with the former World Investment Holdings group, Harcourt agreed to purchase the property for an estimated 33 million from Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., the mortgagee for the resort.

The Royal Oasis is just one of many development project Harcourt is involved with. The successful Ireland-based company has its hand in a wide array of projects worldwide.
Harcourt's acquisition of the Royal Oasis is just another show of commitment to Grand Bahama. "When reopened, the resort will bring major benefits to the local area through increased tourism and local employment," the release read.
