Caribbean Hotel Association Receives $15,000 For Education From Interval International PDF Print E-mail

Interval International, along with a group of affiliates, donated $15,000 to fund educational scholarships through the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA) Education Foundation. The regional manager of Interval, Dmitri Pekhterev presented the check in person to Peter Odle, the president of CHA.

"We are honored to support the Caribbean hospitality industry through the CHA Foundation. Our commitment to this worthy cause and to region is long-term and CHA continues to be one of our most important strategic partners. We hope to have a positive impact on the hospitality industry by assisting in the education of its future leaders."

Odle added, "We are grateful for the generosity of Interval and its member resorts that generate funds for these scholarships and grants through their tireless efforts. They have been extremely loyal over the years and we truly appreciate their dedication to our region and the CHA Education Foundation."

Ivette Martinez, director of the CHA membership benefits department, manages the work of the Foundation, "Applicants for these scholarships have a wide variety of educational interests and industry backgrounds, reaffirming CHA Education Foundation's standing as the largest scholarship program in Caribbean hospitality."

The Foundation itself was founded twenty years ago as a non-profit with a mission to provide scholarships and assistance to personnel and students in the Caribbean hotel industry. Since 1987, CHA Education Foundation has given out 300 scholarships worth approximately $840,000 USD.

The contributors to the fund for this year, 2007 are comprised of the following: Aquarius Vacation Club at Dorado Embassy Suites in Puerto Rico; Renaissance Aruba Beach Resort &Hotel in Aruba; The Sea Aquarium Resort of Curacao;

Bay Gardens Beach Resort in Saint Lucia; Caribbean Palm Village in Aruba; Playa Linda Beach Resort in Aruba; Plantation Village Beach Resort in the Cayman Islands; El San Juan Towers in Puerto Rico; Grand Caymanian Resort in the Cayman Islands; Hyatt Hacienda del Mar in Puerto Rico, Paradise Beach Villas in Aruba; Oyster bay Beach Resort in St. Maarten; Jolly Beach Vacations in Antguea; Long Bay Beach Resort and Villas in Tortola and Ocean Reef Resort in the Bahamas.

Studies performed by the Future Timeshares Buyers, suggests that the Caribbean is one of the most sought-after locations for prospective timeshare buyers.

Interval is committed as a partner of the CHA to cater to the needs of the Caribbean and already offers many services, including development assistance; sales and marketing help as well as reservation and financial services.
