Congratulations are in order for members of the Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers or C.A.R.E., an organization dedicated to assisting diverse entities to increase revenue, fully utilize inventory and enhance vacation experiences. The organization recently celebrated these honorees at their 44th semiannual conference in Charleston, SC where over 165 members attended. Norm Scott, Jr., CEO of Tartan Management Inc., was awarded the prominent Pinnacle Award for Lifetime Achievement for 15 years of dedicated vacation industry service. “Norm became involved in C.A.R.E. in 1994 and has served two terms on its Ethics Committee. He was instrumental in promoting the organization of the Internet by helping to develop software that became our online directory. He served as Chairman of the Communications/Internet Committee, and as Vice President and Treasurer from 2000-2006. Now living in Costa, he and his wife are sponsoring an orphanage as continues to help children in need,” said Bonnie Kosco, President of C.A.R.E. Another honoree was Tina Hill, Co-Chair of the Sponsorship Committee, who was selected as the recipient of the Richard Gallardo Service Award for her outstanding contribution in volunteer service. She also serves on the Conference and Marketplace committees. Three new volunteer members were elected to serve as Vice Presidents on the Board: Dana Utter of Global Connections, Debbie Westby of Colorado Rocky Mountains, and Alain Carr of American Resorts International. Bonne Kosco also added, “We are a non-profit trade association founded over 20 years ago whose goal is to offer our members the tools to provide outstanding vacation services while remaining committed to the highest standards and ethics. Today, the C.A.R.E. member base of approximately 175 companies is comprised of resort developers, property management firms, exchange organizations, travel clubs and industry service providers.” |
