Redesigned Timeshare Resale Website Released PDF Print E-mail

Bay Tree Solutions unveils it's new website, featuring timeshares for sale and rent, and resources for current timeshare owners. The new site's simplified property search allows faster access to results, with minimal user input. Company Director, Doug Milbrath, explains that "feedback collected from thousands of site visitors, and clients, was invaluable during site development. It has enabled us to create a truly user-centered design."

Milbrath is optimistic about the current recession's effect on the timeshare resale industry. He predicts "the current economic downturn will ultimately have a silver lining for both timeshare owners and consumers. The time when families purchased timeshare on a high-pressure sales tour, for a retail price, and at unfavorable finance terms, is past. Today's more cautious consumer is much more likely to tour several resorts, decide on where to purchase, then research resale prices before making the decision to buy."

Bay Tree Solutions connects buyers and sellers in a "for-sale-by-owner" setting, without the involvement of a real estate broker, and without commissions, a format Milbrath says "takes high-pressure sales tactics, one of the frequent criticisms of timeshare, off the table completely." Once a sale price is agreed on, the buyer typically pays closing costs, and if needed, Bay Tree Solutions will provide referrals to title and finance companies specializing in timeshare resale.

Milbrath is confident that timeshare ownership still represents a value to most consumers. He explains that "during a sales presentation, timeshare developers rarely mention the true costs of timeshare ownership, like maintenance and exchange fees, which leads some to believe the numbers just don't add up. The reality is that a family that travels one week a year, and spends just $150 per night on hotels, could purchase a timeshare resale today for $16,000, use it 30 years, sell it for just 50% of what it cost today, and save over $20,000 even after the cost of ownership."

Constant evolution is a hallmark of the timeshare industry. In just 50 years, one European developer's simple concept of "stop renting the room… buy the hotel" has grown into a $10 billion+ industry, attracting nearly all of the top hospitality brands. When asked what the future holds for Bay Tree Solutions, Milbrath hints at future innovations that "will continue our commitment to rethink timeshare resale."
