According to speculation, Orlando will soon gain another timeshare, adding 1,400 more timeshare units to the city.
A New York-based company has received the green light to begin developing 19.2 acres of land along Orlando’s International Drive tourist area. The new Orlando timeshare project includes two underdeveloped parcels and an existing hotel that is scheduled to be demolished.
The developer—Show-Lain Cheng—was approved by Orange County last year. The team began developing concepts on the site this August. They have already begun storm water and architectural design, plans that will be submitted to county review by the end of September.
Local reports say that the project is worth $500 million and confirm that the resort will have a Zen theme. The construction is planned on several phases. Upon completion, it will have a fitness center, tennis courts, a bowling alley, Wii rooms, as well as retail space.
