With the recession at hand, consumers are more apprehensive about buying expensive real estate and this opens the door for timeshare companies.
There are many resorts, hotels, and timeshare properties that are thriving in this harsh economic time.
RCI, one of the top timeshare companies in the world, is poised to get a 200% growth with its affiliation with India in the current fiscal year.

“We are witnessing a strong growth in affiliations this year, and several new destinations are being added,” said RCI managing director Radhika Shastry in a recent interview. “As against 5 properties that were affiliated in the country last year we are targeting 15 this year, and we are adding a number of new destinations as well.”

New affiliates that are scheduled to join the network this year include: Jaipur, Udaipur, Shimla, Attibele, among others.

RCI recently added four Club Mahindra resorts at Yercaud, Thekkady, Ashtamudi and Naukuchiatal, while they are currently working on five other affiliations. These additions will increase RCI’s global network to more than 4,000 locations.

According to RCI officials, there hotels have a percentage of rooms set aside for timeshare ownership, which will guarantee a consistent revenue stream for the year.
