Timeshare owners are being encouraged to take comprehensive travel cover whenever they head abroad.
The Age Concern Insurance Services says that vacationers who do not take a comprehensive policy run the risk of having to pay an expensive hospital bill if something goes wrong.
The group says that this is particularly important to older people travelling in European timeshares. The group said that a fractured hip can cost up to £17,000 in
Spain and kidney failure can cost £34,500 in Turkey.
The group’s spokesperson Joe Young said that data and research indicate that insurance is a necessary expense for vacationers.
