UK timeshare travellers will have to go through tighter airport checks. Prime Minister Gordon Brown says that he will be using full-body scanners in airports.
In an interview with BBC, Brown said: “We will do everything in our power to tighten up security.”
BAA, owner of several UK airports, said that the scanners will be introduced as soon as it is possible.
“It is our view that a combination of technology, intelligence and passenger profiling will help build a more robust defence against the unpredictable and changing nature of the ¬terrorist threat to aviation,” a BAA spokesman explained.
Consequently, all travellers are advised to come to airports earlier due to the heightened security measures, which could delay their boarding process.
