Consumer Reports ShopSmart says that renting timeshares are a great way to save on vacation trips.
These days, there is a glut of timeshare properties for rent these days and owners are eager to negotiate for bargain prices.
Consumer Reports ShopSmart says that owners are ready to rent out their timeshares, which are fully equipped with kitchens, living rooms, and entertainment systems.
“In this economic downturn, time-share owners are anxious to rent. So you can negotiate a really good deal,” said Mandy Walker from Consumer Reports. “We found some as low as $400 a week and many in the $600-$1,200 range.”
Walker continued: “The sites we checked out have plenty of rent-from-owner listings and are categorized by location and even activities, like skiing or golf.”
Before renting a timeshare, be sure to check the reviews of the company that owns it.
