Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort is planning to add two more timeshare towers to its seven towers in the area.

Experts say that it comes as the timeshare industry is showing significant signs of recovery. The project will double the resort’s timeshare capacity, and construction is scheduled to begin on 2013 and will be completed on 2015.

Rick Egged, the president of the Waikiki Improvement Association, says that the project will bring more visitors to the region. This will bring more investments and tourism revenues.
Statistically, most of the tourists come from China. And these visitors are expected to increase by 15 percent and they will travel to prime destinations.

“Chinese visitors have become Hawaii's highest daily spenders, and recent bookings show that outbound travel from this growing market is picking up again,” explained Mike McCartney, president and chief executive of the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

A sales team from Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau will travel to Shanghai next week to promote Hawaiian tourism.
