One financial expert says that timeshares are a bad investment.
“It’s playing with fire while sitting in a puddle of gasoline,” explained Dave Ramsey, host of segment in News/Talk 92.3 KTAR. “You can't give the stupid thing away, there's no market for timeshares whatsoever, nobody buys them.”
He continued: “… it is one of the few consumer products that has a 97 percent dissatisfaction rate.”
Ramsey says that this type of property has no redeeming value.
Ramsey presented the question: what if you are offered a timeshare with an annual maintenance fee of just $250?
Ramsey explained: “Until the $250 becomes $1,000 because the timeshare organization decides to get together and raise the fees, and then you're stuck in the thing.”
