Rip Off Britain, a BBC1 series, featured a segment about a timeshare company which was presented by Jenny Bond.
Reporters Andrew Penman and Nick Sommerlad say that they have been contacted by many unhappy customers of Club La Costa (CLC), a renowned timeshare company.
Customers typically complain about agents contacting them and saying that they have won a free holiday. Then it comes with a timeshare sales pitch.
Penman and Sommerlad say that the Independent Timeshare Consumers Association receives at least one complaint a day about CLC.
Sandy Grey, the Association’s chairman, was reportedly interviewed on camera regarding CLC for the show. However, it was not aired.
“It is common for various story ideas to be considered for a series of this nature and clearly not everything makes it into the programme,” explained a BBC spokesperson for the Daily Mirror.
