The Hawaiian timeshare industry will grow with more than 4,000 units to be constructed, according to a survey released by the American Resort Development Association.
Capital expenditures in Hawaii for the timeshare industry totaled to $138.7 million in 2009 and will close out 2010 at more than $60 million.
One Hawaiian timeshare opening this year is the Wyndham Royal Garden at Waikiki.
The resort includes 140 timeshare units and 68 condo units. It will open by mid-November, but its grand opening will be on February.
The ARDA survey was obtained information from more than 80 percent of the total timeshare owners and operators in Hawaii. It is the third survey conducted by Hospitality Advisors for the ARDA.
