In this tough economy, most timeshare owners have become desperate to sell their properties. This makes them easy victims for resale scammers.
These scammers contact owners and propose to sell their timeshares, saying that they already have buyers on the pit.
In fact, the scammers offer more than the owner’s asking price with no negotiations necessary. The deal seems too good to be true—and it actually is.
After claiming that they already have buyers, these companies then ask for your financial information (i.e. credit card numbers) to close the deal.
If you feel hesitant about a deal, don’t bite. Cross reference the company with the Better Business Bureau before you continue your transactions with them.
