Don’t hand your timeshare to the first reseller who claims he has a buyer and double check his agency before you sign anything.
Timeshare resale scams are rampant in the United States (US). These scammers bank on the financial pressure that timeshare owners undergo just to maintain their property. They promise relief from these financial woes, but they actually add to them.
Before you sign or pay anything, you must cross reference the resale company with the Better Business Bureau.
Also, it helps to get all the reseller’s promises in writing. Learn more about the contract specifics. If possible, get your lawyer to review them.
