In UK, a television advertisement by the International Timeshare Refund Action (ITRA) was permanently barred from airing by the local Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). According to the Timeshare Association (TATOC), Resort Development Organization (RDO) and television viewers, the advertisement presented false information to viewers. The ad invites those among the audiences that have problems with their timeshare investments to join their organization, flagging their "no win, no fee refund" slogan.
ASA is now looking into whether ITRA's claim of taking legal action for clients was altogether deceiving or substantial. Complainants also reported being lured into the net by other scrupulous activities by the ITRA. A "misleading by omission" ruling was imposed on the ad by the ASA banning the advertisement permanently from airing over television.
The ruling by the ASA stood on grounds that the advertisement failed to reveal on television a Club Class product that they offered as their alternative to timeshare investments.
