Victoria Falls will soon see a new vacation lodge under joint partnership by America's Capital Corp Merchant Bank and Playland Limited from Zambia. The timeshare project, which costs a whopping US$15.4 million, will cater business to incentive groups coming from the US and Europe, as well as local and regional markets, in the form of more affordable facilities.
Capital Corp Merchant Bank President Gilles Herard says he is extremely confident that the 4-star project, to be called the Cresta Mukuni Safari Lodge, will be able to fill in the divide between low-cost lodges and ultra-expensive hotels for tourists going on safari and wilderness vacation adventures. Herard adds that currently, there are only about 70 hotel rooms that are available in Zimbabwe, with even less conference facilities available.
A management contract was signed between Playland Limited and Cresta Hospitality, one of the largest hospitality groups in the south of Africa. The company manages around 13 properties in three countries across the world, namely Nigera, Botswana and Zimbabwe. The contract will ensure that the new project will have fast impact on, as well as to enhance its position in, the market.
