Showing an unusually rejuvenated destination load over the winter, Hawaii has attained almost 81% in hotel occupancy as told by recent reports. It is one of the highest among all famous destinations the world over. Hotels in Oahu, whose number of rooms makes up almost half of all the hotel accommodations available in the state, almost reached 87% capacity during the period between February 6 and 12.
Meanwhile, Hospitality Advisors LLC reported recently that average room rates in the state were also up by almost 7.7% as compared to last year’s rates. In the US, hotel occupancy rates went down to 55% for the same period. Smith Travel Research LLC reports that occupancy rates in several cities, namely San Diego (66%), Orlando (69%) and Los Angeles (72%).
Hotels in Maui, on the other hand, were almost 83 percent full while average room rates locally reached almost $267 per evening similar to the previous year’s rates.
