A woman and her seven-year-old child experienced horror while watching her husband being beaten up and threatened after agreeing to attend a timeshare presentation. The woman, who only wishes to be identified as Sue, says she and her family were vacationing on the beachside boardwalk of a vacation destination at the Pacific Ocean when a man approached them presenting a $300US “gift”.
The man identified himself as being employed under a company which owned the resort where the family was taking accommodation. According to Sue, they had booked their stay through a certain timeshare trading service. A while later, the family agreed to join the timeshare presentation.
The following day, they were picked up on a cab and that was when they realized the truth. Sue explains “this gentleman went on to explain that it wasn’t (a time-shares)… these are condominiums that are being sold to potential residents who want to live here or tourists who want to come for the winter.” When they refused to return the gift amounting to less $300, the man’s companions beat up and threatened his husband who later surrendered the money eventually.
