Smugglers' Notch is about to transform its mode of doing business starting this June. Scott Tobin, vacation ownership director of the timeshare condominium, says that the establishment used to sell deeded properties to people. They would then be able to own a condo unit for a certain amount of time each year.
Now, with a new agreement set between them and Wyndham Vacation Ownership, prospective buyers will now be able to purchase vacation ownerships points in the entire network of Wyndham resorts which include Smugglers' Notch. Thus, clients will be able to choose where to stay whenever they want as long as they have enough points.
Tobin adds that out of the 300 timeshare units in Smugglers' Notch, 40 condos will be set up for participation in the Wyndham program. He explains that "the inventory set aside for the program will be registered into a trust," adding that "you'll be buying an interest in that trust and you'll receive points to travel anywhere in the Wyndham exchange network, including obviously, coming back to Smugglers' Notch."
