Members of the Aspen Planning and Zoning Commission are set to get their hands on the final application of a Lift One Lodge project involving a 27-unit timeshare construction located at Aspen Mountain’s foot. However, Roaring Fork Mountain Lodge-Aspen LLC’s Bob Daniel says the commission may postpone discussions.
Daniel explains that “the city planning staff wants to double-check something relative to participation by P&Z members who are running for City Council.” Both Commissioners Cliff Weiss and L.J. Erspamer have filed their petitions to run as councilors in time for the May 3 elections.
The timeshare project application had been sifting through the city’s planning commission ever since its filing in 2006. Having gone through many revisions, the council had granted it conceptual approval back in 2009. The project application has since been scaled down but still, according to Daniel, there are still “some concerns raised by the council about a few things associated with the project.”
