The Attorney General of West Virginia has issued a warning to timeshare owners in the region.
Timeshare scammers will ask for an advance fee to sell timeshare properties; and they won’t contact their clients after asking the fee.
In a press release, the Attorney General said that people should be wary of these scammers. The Attorney advised that people ask for contracts and shouldn’t pay the upfront fee. Apparently, the initial fee is not a standard procedure of legitimate timeshare companies.
Before dealing with any timeshare company, owners are advised to screen the resale group’s name with the Better Business Bureau.
