Federal officials have arrested three Florida residents, who are charged with a $3-billion timeshare scam.
The three suspects were apprehended on allegations of accepting payments from timeshare owners after falsely saying that they had buyers to the victim’s properties, and then walking away with the payment.
In some cases, the timeshare owners were contacted by the scammers several times. The scammers even changed their business names during these occasions.
According to reports, the scammers operated from Boynton Beach and Boca Raton. They contacted consumers all over the United States and Canada.
