A Federal Court has halted an alleged timeshare telemarketing scam operation in Orlando. Authorities say that the defendants charged consumers thousands of dollars, claiming that they had buyers for the client’s timeshare properties.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is currently moving to have the company’s deceptive practices and operations.
Victims paid as much as $3,150 worth of upfront fees, which was said to be refundable. However, once the funds cleared, the victims never heard from the scammers again. The scammers accepted both cash and cashier’s checks, which were delivered overnight.
