[PRWeb press release] -- The National Timeshare Owners Association (NTOA), the top U.S. consumer advocacy group in the timeshare industry, has added Newport, Rhode Island to its series of educational seminars scheduled for the second half of 2011. The Newport event is slated for Wednesday, September 7th, 2011 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm.
These special educational conferences provide consumers with the opportunity to get straight answers from some of the most respected experts in the business. Among the speakers in attendance will be Ed Hastry, founder and president of the National Timeshare Owners Association, and Peter Emery, Director of Sales, CashOutATimeshare.com.
The speakers will be offering up-to-the-minute information and insights as well as answers to individual questions and quandaries from attendees on topics such as purchasing a timeshare for less than the new sale price, finding ethical exchange companies who charge no membership fees, recognizing and avoiding scams and making informed choices to find buyers for timeshares on the resale market.
“In economic times like these, the last thing owners need is crushing added expenses. But that’s exactly what many timeshare owners are facing, things like skyrocketing maintenance fees, surprise expenses and the constant ‘postcard’ invitations to high-pressure sales meetings from dubious companies promising to take their timeshare off their hands – for a fee,” said Hastry. “With our help, attendees can avoid the scams and spiels and recognize legitimate timeshare deals. They’ll get all the information at the seminar they need to make good decisions and enjoy the best of the timeshare lifestyle.”

About NTOA
The National Timeshare Owners Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating consumers about their timeshares. We are a member organization and our main focus is, of course, helping our members. Every day we’re hard at work giving them the information and resources they need to better understand and manage their timeshares. We are not a postcard company and we don’t charge big upfront fees. We are here to protect consumers, our members, by providing support, education, and advocacy services. Our passion and drive is helping timeshare owners, or anyone considering timeshare ownership, navigate the murky world of timeshares.
