The Better Business Bureau issued a warning to timeshare owners who are dealing with City Resorts to resell their property.
The Las Vegas-based timeshare resale company has already conned two Wisconsin residents for more than $3,500. City Resorts has been the subject of 23 complaints around the country since March; and it has since received a failed rating from the BBB for failing to respond to the complaints.
Just like most scams, City Resorts contacts consumers, promising them that they already have a buyer for their timeshare. The company asks for an upfront fee and walks away from the deal once the funds have cleared.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has also issued a government action against Red Solutions, the parent company of City Resorts.
Before dealing with this company, please consult the nearest business regulator in your area.
