Tips on avoiding timeshare resale scams PDF Print E-mail
Written by TSD Staff

With the current economic environment, it becomes difficult to sell your timeshares without getting conned. Constrained finances lead households into desperate situations, where they can be easily taken advantage of.

To avoid scams, you should consider your legal options. So, the first step is to get a lawyer that you can trust.

One thing you can be sure of, is that there is no such thing as an upfront fee. This is usually what scammers do to con money out of timeshare owners. Refuse to pay such fees, which can also be called different names. Whatever it’s called, ask about it and don’t pay it immediately. Investigate.

Before you agree to anything, research about the company you’re dealing with. Better yet, double check the company with the Better Business Bureau.

Don’t bite on deals that seem too good to be true—they probably are.
