A judge in East St. Louis has sentenced a woman from New Jersey to more than 15 years in prison for helming a timeshare telemarketing scam that took more than $30 million from more than 20,000 unsuspecting victims across North America and Puerto Rico.
Jennifer Kirk from Howell, N.J. made an apologetic statement in front of a federal judge on Monday. Kirk pled guilty last June to charges of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud.
However, Kirk’s efforts did not sway the judge, whom called her manipulative and aggressive.
Kirk operated the Florida-based Universal Marketing Solutions and Creative Vacation Solutions—two organizations who conned timeshare owners.
