Ralph D’Errico and his wife recently booked a tour to Arizona in a resort called Sedona Pines. However, it was not the tour he expected.
Instead, the couple ended up sitting through a timeshare sales pitch.
The tour turned out to be a two-hour high-pressure sales pitch for a timeshare investment. D’Errico says that they weren’t shown sites. Instead, the couple was shown figures and prices.
While the offers interested him, D’Errico says that he can’t afford such luxuries. However, when the sales agents reduced their price; D’Errico eventually purchased the timeshare. But he was not informed of the property’s long-term expenses.
Now, D’Errico is stuck with a property that he can no longer afford to maintain.
When approached about the matter, Sedona said that D’Errico had a chance to cancel his purchase, but did not act on it within the allotted timeframe.
